Here is the text of the Official statement issued by SBI Managing Director.

The State Bank of India (SBI) is going to hire 7,000 people this financial year to support its branch expansion plans and for the regular needs. “We will hire about 2,000 probationary officers and the rest clerks. We are going to add 700 more branches this financial year to take the total to beyond 17,000 branches,” Rajnish Kumar, Managing Director of SBI, has said

So from this statement, we can conclude that SBI Clerk Recruitment for 5000 posts may be started in the Upcoming months . But there will be no hiring for Officers cadre for SBI in 2017 as SBI had just finished the Recruitment process for 2000 Probationary Officers.

Why SBI is Recruiting 5000 Clerks in 2018 ?

What is the Eligibility Criteria ?

Applicants willing to appears for SBI Clerk Recruitment 2018 Exam, must full fill the below mentioned eligibility conditions.

1) Age Limit : Applicants age should be in between 20 years to 28 years. (As on the Date of application)

2) Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have obtained degree in any discipline from a recognized university of India. There is no percentage criteria required, all you need is a pass in Degree.

For Jr. Associates: Degree in any discipline

For Jr. Agriculture Associates: Applicants must have Agriculture degree Or associated with Agriculture related activities

Relaxation: The bank is giving relaxations in age for reserved categories. Here is category wise relaxations in age limit criteria

• OBC: 3 years
• SC/ ST: 5 years
• PWD: 10 years.

What is the Selection Process ?

The Selection Process for the Recruitment of clerks in State Bank of India (SBI), comprises of Written test Prelims and Mains . Following the Government Decision to scrap the Interviews for Group B,D and C posts, and as such there will be No Interview for SBI Clerk 2018. But for this Recruitment, SBI had requested the Govt of India, to let them conduct the Interviews, but the approval is pending.

But the Bank may or may not include the Psychometric or any other test to check the candidates aptitude.  and If the Interviews are going to end, then Cut offs will be very high.

Written test : The Written test will be online, and comprises of 200 Questions from the following 5 sections, with 40 questions in each section. The weightage of Written test is 200 marks, and each question carry 1 mark.

Applicants willing to apply for SBI Clerk Exam 2018, must submit their applications online before the closing Date. The Date for submitting the Online application starts from April, 2018 and the Last Date to apply is April, 2018.
