Preparing for SBI Clerk Exam 2018 ? Know the Examination Pattern for SBI Clerk Exam 2018 in Detail



State Bank of India, will soon announce its 5000 clerk vacancy as expected in the First Quarter of 2018. However, the Bank is yet to announce the Exam Dates, and the exact exam dates will be only when the SBI Clerk Notification will be released. Although there is nothing official yet on the announcement of Notification, but it is expected that vacancy will be announced soon, as 100 New Branches are almost ready for operations. 

Once the SBI Clerk 2018 Notification, will be announced, there will buzz everywhere, as SBI being the most popular brand name is First choice of Bank Job Seekers and Who does not want a Job in State Bank in India and this No. choice makes SBI the most sought after and competitive Job in India.

In this post, we are will discuss with you the Exam pattern for SBI Clerk 2018 Exam. After the IBPS changed its clerical exam pattern, with the introduction of 3 tier selection process (Prelims, Mains and then Interview), there are rumours that SBI will also make changes in its clerk exam pattern.


SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2018



If you have started preparing Or going to prepare for SBI Clerk Exam, then then there are 2 things that you must know. First is SBI Clerk Exam syllabus and 2nd is Exam pattern.

In our previous post, we have discussed in detail, the SBI Clerk Syllabus and here in this section, we will discuss about the Exam pattern

The Examination Pattern of SBI is different when you compare it with other Banking Exams. 

The SBI Clerk Examination pattern, comprises of Online Objective test having duration of 2 Hours and 15 minutes composite time.

The Online test, has 200 questions with each question carrying 1 mark. These 200 Questions are sub-divide in 5 sections with 40 Questions in each sections

Here are the 5 sections in the SBI Clerk Online test

1) Reasoning 
2) Quantitative Aptitude
3) General Awareness
4) Computer Knowledge / Marketing Aptitude
5) General English


Kindly Note the below mentioned important Points.

1) There is sectional cut off for each of the sections ie. You have to pass all the sections individually. The section wise cut off will be decided by the  bank


2) You have to score minimum %age on aggregate marks, and rank higher in the merit list, for being considered for Interview.

3) For Every wrong answer there will be deduction of 0.25 marks. So we very careful, while marking answers .

Changes in Examination Pattern


The Examination patters, as given above is the traditional examination pattern followed by SBI, over the years. But this year, IBPS had changed the Examination Pattern for clerk exams, and introduced 2 Tier Written Exam system, ie Prelims and Mains Exam.

Now, rumours are confusing the aspirants, that SBI will follow the suite and make changes in its exam pattern. But this is only a prediction, and there is nothing Official yet on this. Things will get more clearer, only after the SBI Clerk Notification will be announced.
