6.Different types & level of competitive exam eg. ssb, ssc, upsc, banking, teaching etc

Here are Useful Tips for Cracking the SBI Clerk Exam without coaching

1.Start from the 'abc': When you passout from any educational organisation whether its school college etc. at that time you are not quite in touch with the basics. So for preparing any competitive examination you need to make sure that your basics are made strong.

2. Syllabus: You need to go through the syllabi of all the subjects of the desired posts. It will help you to judge the difficulty level of the examination. Here is the Detailed Syllabus for SBI Clerk Exam 2016

3. Study Material: Most important aspect of clearing an examination are books and study material. Before buying any book you need to match it with the syllabus & compare it with books of other publication then you buy the book which seems relevant. Few recommendation are- Arihant , Dr. R.S.Aggarwal,Kiran publication,Vishal etc. . Here is the Complete List for Books for SBI Clerk Exam

4. Timetable: The bad news is time flies, the good news is you are the pilot .From the time you wake up till the time you sleep there should be a managed timetable for everything .I know it sounds monotonous but it will help you in the longer run .So the key is not to prioritise what is on your schedule but to schedule your priorities for the time being its "STUDYING".

5. Equal time to each subject: Most of the aspirants make a mistake by not giving proper time to each subject Eg. If you are good at math or English do not take your knowledge for granted you need to practice math or improvise your English you should read Newspaper , novels ,online articles and so on for other subjects too. Because hard work always pays off.

6.General knowledge & current affairs:This is the most scoring and important section in any competitive exam .So do not make a mistake of preparing this section on the last minute because it will affect your score and dream job.

7.Do not cram: In school days we used to cram questions & answers for them. But when you are preparing for a competitive exam this may lead to your downfall, instead start studying and memorizing and picturing the stuff you are reading .Because the syllabus is huge and cramming may cause confusion.

9. Changes in exam pattern: In recent times there have been following important changes in the pattern of examination

  • Negative marking: It is a no go zone .All thanks to the negative marking the difficulty level of exam has increased. But fret not you just need to keep a couple of things in mind that are attempt the question about which you are 100% sure do not take risk.
  • Reduced time limit
  • Computer aided test: now-a-days most of the exam have been upgraded from omr(optical mark recognition) to computer based test.
  • Good news no interview for clerical and equivalent posts.
